You Deserve To Be Celebrated.

“You’re about to get a Sarah Cate Mini Rant” is my friend Anna’s favorite voice memo to get, and she got just that this weekend.

I came across a post about “moving in silence” - for those unfamiliar, it’s the concept of doing everything in secret so one day you can emerge as a perfectly successful butterfly.

Or something.

Personally, I think it’s a terrible life philosophy, as the 5 minute long voice memo to Anna outlined. There’s a sense of safety that comes with it, sure - if people don’t know about your dreams and plans, there’s no risk or embarrassment if they fail. No one to laugh if you don’t succeed, because no one knew what you were trying to accomplish in the first place. There’s security in keeping secrets, and safety in hiding your dreams.

What a miserable way to live.

I started Two Bite from a friend’s couch, and once I set up the branding, sent it via text to my inner circle. Since most of them live out of the state, the first response was indignation that they wouldn’t be able to order, but the second response? That was nothing but pure joy and excitement for me. And that’s what it’s been every step of the way - joy and excitement, celebrating every win I’ve had both for the bakery and in my personal life (though I’m not quite sure I can tell you the difference between the two anymore).

Two Bite was started around the idea that dessert makes life better, but at the core of that is the belief that you deserve to be seen and loved and celebrated by the people in your life. You deserve to have your people celebrate your wins - even if your biggest win was just that you got out of bed today. I’ve had plenty of days like that over the last year, and my circle was there for every rough morning, cheering me on.

They’ve been there for every moment of self doubt, every text of “I have no idea if I should even be doing this”. They’ve been there for every moment of delusional confidence as I pitch myself for an event or a client. They’ve been there for every business milestone - including the super exciting one I got to send them last night! They have met me with support and encouragement every step of the way.

It is undeniable that the story of Two Bite is the story of a community. I would have given up - I would never even have started without the people around me.

Find your people. Find your inner circle of friends who you can share your dreams with, who will encourage you, but most importantly - who will celebrate every little win along the way.

Because you, my friend?

You deserve to be celebrated.
